Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League – U11 Division 1 - 19th Nov 2011

Bury Rangers Girls v Enfield Town (3-0)

Team: Molly Daniels, Ruby Voss, Libby Hockney, Pia Eversley, Alice Crawford, Amy Martin, Zoe Martin, Izzy Clermont

Bury Rangers Girls U11’s first return league fixture of the season saw them host Enfield U11s at Presdales in bright November sunshine.  Bury posted a superb first half performance lit up by a splendid first league goal for Izzy Clermont and two more for Alice Crawford whose is beginning to make Dixie Dean’s goals to games ratio look like Phil Neville’s.  Izzy’s goal was rifled in right footed from a fair distance and was enjoyed as much by her team mates and Bury’s touchline contingent as it was by Izzy herself.  Bury turned round 3:0 to the good.

The second half was played out comfortably with no further scoring despite some openings for Bury.  The always outstanding Pia Eversley and her superb defensive partners plus a hardworking stint throughout the team meant that this lead was never threatened and a second clean sheet against Enfield was bagged.  Amy picked up this week’s ‘girl of the game’ for a hard running, determined and skillful contribution.

A contrasting result to the cup exit on penalties of a fortnight ago but, win or lose, the Bury U11s girls conduct themselves very well on and off the pitch - their attitude, level headed approach to their games and commitment to an expansive style of football is excellent – traits that have so far held up even in challenging moments as was the case on occasions today.
