This week the whites were up against a strong Hitchin Hearts Belles side that had started the season well. Whites brought their usual mix of spirit and effort and some good play to the proceedings but eventually went down by a double figure score line. Hitchin possess a very useful striker who accounted for five on the first six goals. That said though Hitchin looked the part in all areas and like Bury Rangers appear to have a good set up on and off the pitch and a similarity in terms of how to play the game. However, in Molly Daniels (this week's man of the match) the Whites have a very good keeper whose bravery and determination are becoming much admired on the touchline. Bethan made good ground with some impressive lengthy dribbles and Cathy regularly does good work on the ball. Millie too danced through defenders in some tight areas. And while regular spectators have come to expect a decent defensive contribution from Libby the match report would be incomplete without acknowledging it. Another positive is that the coach Holly was able to rotate players with a squad of nine available this week. Despite a few promising positions and the ball flashing across the goal on a couple of occasions the search for the elusive first goal continues.
