Head Coach

Purpose of job:

It is the responsibility of the head coach to ensure that the members of the club receive coaching of the highest standard, and develop a strong and competitive team in your particular sport

Main Duties:

  1. To take full responsibility for the clubs coaching
  2. To work with the Assistant Coach in the preparation and running of each training session
  3. Be responsible for the implementation of the coaching aspects of the clubs development plan
  4. Maintain an up  to date record of coaches in the club, including current coaching status
  5. Produce estimates of future coaching courses to assist financial planning, taking into account all sources of finance
  6. To promote and raise the standard of coaching in the club

Time Involved:

  1. Occasional daily involvement

Accountable to:

  1. Chair/Management Committee

Skills Required:

  1. Strong leadership skills
  2. Ability to communicate well with both young people and parents
  3. Strong organisational skills

Experience needed:

  1. An extensive background in coaching both young people and/or adults
  2. Be able to motivate individuals
