A former Bury Rangers FC player has signed a professional contract for Arsenal.
17 year-old Nathan Tormey was poached from rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with the promising winger signing his contract this month (July).
Arsenal have big plans for the Hale End Academy student, described by the club as “technically gifted and pacey.”
Tormey suffered an injury-ridden campaign last season, but is now back to his best.
In a statement on his twitter feed, Tormey said: “Very happy to have signed my professional contract with Arsenal.”
The Gunners released the following statement on their club website: “Congratulations to Nathan Torrey, who has signed his first professional contract with the club.
“We all look forward to Nathan’s continued progress with the club this season.”
On behalf of Bury Rangers FC we’d like to congratulate Nathan and wish him all the best for the future!
